Spending a relaxing yoga holiday in Mallorca?
A few years ago yoga was labeled as a discipline for hippies or people who spent too much time in Goa. The images you saw were mostly marked by crazy distortions and showed alternative and bearded people.
As of today, a lot has changed. According to Yoga Survey and Yoga Alliance, the number of people practicing yoga in the United States has almost doubled from 20 to approximately 37 million since 2016.
A development that can also be observed in Europe. The spread of yoga has also led to the opening of a series of retreats in Mallorca, which offer different types of vacation in combination with yoga and want to give their guests deep relaxation.
Some time ago we met Brenda and Roland from Osa Major.
The two of them immediately welcomed us warm and positively and were able to give us a lot of tips and information about yoga from the same moment.
Osa Major, named after the constellation Great Bear, is located in Sant Joan, just 30 minutes from the island's capital city, Palma.
With a lot of love and detail, Roland and Brenda gradually renovated their finca, which they bought as a ruin in 2006.
At the top of the hill they built a beautiful yoga shala overlooking the valley. Teachers come from all over the world so that many beautiful yoga weeks can be organized.
Various terraces, the large pool, an own vegetable garden and completely self-sufficient energy make this retreat an absolute experience for mind and soul.
Of course there are many other yoga retreats on Mallorca but we would like to recommend Osa Major to you.

]]>Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity.
Forests provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere, and are key ingredients in 25% of all medicines. Have you ever taken an Aspirin? It comes from the bark of a tree!
Here are the six pillars that explain why trees are vital:
WATER
Trees play a key role in capturing rainwater and reducing the risk of natural disasters like floods and landslides. Their intricate root systems act like filters, removing pollutants and slowing down the water’s absorption into the soil. This process prevents harmful waterslide erosion and reduces the risk of over-saturation and flooding. According to the UN Food and Agriculture Association, a mature evergreen tree can intercept more than 15,000 litres of water every year.
BIODIVERSITY
This bow and the associated gesture Namasté stands for the conviction that there is a divine spark in every human being - in the heart chakra. With the exercise, your soul honors the soul of your yoga partner. The origin of the word is relatively easy to explain. “Nama” means to bow, “as” means me and “té” means you. Thus the literal translation of Namasté is: “I bow to you.”
The gesture
To perform the Namasté gesture, we bring our hands together in front of the heart chakra, close our eyes and tilt our head towards the heart. There is another variant for expressing special respect. To do this, the hands are brought together in front of the third eye, the head is lowered and then the hands are brought down to the level of the heart.
Here with us the gesture is usually used together with the word “Namasté”. In India, however, the gesture itself is understood as an expression of Namasté, so it is not necessary to pronounce the word while bowing.
Symbol of respect and gratitude
It is preferable to practice the gesture both at the beginning and at the end of your yoga class. Most of the time, however, it is put at the end of the lesson because then the mind is no longer as active and the energy in the room is more peaceful. The yoga teacher introduces Namasté as a symbol of gratitude and respect for his students and invites them in return to connect with their line of teachers. By doing this, they allow the truth to flow - the truth that we are all one when we live from the heart.
Namasté also serves as a meditation technique
The gesture can also be used as an independent meditation technique. Namasté serves to dive deeper into your heart chakra.

What distinguishes a TPE yoga mat from PVC?
Yoga mats made of TPE are free of PVC and latex and are made without the addition of toxic plasticizers. At the same time, they are just as non-slip as yoga mats made of PVC, but more environmentally friendly because they are 100% biodegradable or recyclable.
TPE is a synthetically manufactured soft, very light foam that includes a plastic core that keeps the yoga mat elastic. TPE yoga mats are interesting for allergy sufferersFor allergy sufferers, TPE yoga mats are interesting because they do not use latex, cadmium or rubber, all substances that can trigger allergies. This makes TPE mats an alternative for you if you cannot tolerate natural rubber yoga mats.
Benefits:
Acupressure mats can take some getting used to – but it will worth it! The spikes are sharp and in the beginning they can cause discomfort or pain for several minutes, before they start to warm up the body and feel good.
To get the best results, we recommend to use the mat each day for 10 to 20 minutes at a time.
Remember to breathe and practice consciously relaxing your body.
Yoga maintains that chakras are center points of energy, thoughts, feelings, and the physical body. According to yogic teachers, chakras determine the way people experience reality through emotional reactions, desires or aversions, levels of confidence or fear, and even physical symptoms and effects.
When energy becomes blocked in a chakra, it is said to trigger physical, mental, or emotional imbalances that manifest in symptoms, such as anxiety, lethargy, or poor digestion.
Asanas are the many physical positions in Hatha yoga. People who practice yoga use asanas to free energy and stimulate an imbalanced chakra.
There are seven major chakras, each with their own focus:
To convey its spiritual message and guide sessions, yoga often uses the imagery of a tree with roots, a trunk, branches, blossoms, and fruits. Each "branch" of yoga represents a different focus and set of characteristics.
The six branches are:
Approaching yoga with a specific goal in mind can help a person decide which branch to follow.
